Bursaries
Who can apply for FEBS Bursaries
FEBS Bursaries will be available for students and postdoctoral fellows.
Up to eighty-three FEBS bursaries will be available for students and postdoctoral fellows (within 5 years after obtaining their PhD) working in an academic institution of higher learning in any FEBS member country.
How to apply for FEBS Bursaries

Go to the FEBS 2009 Registration & Abstract Submission

Register yourself, pay the applicable registration fee and submit an abstract

You will receive the confirmation of your registration including PRN (Participant Registration Number) by e-mail

E-mail your bursary application to

and include ALL documentation (CV, PR (Participant Registration Number), Confirmation about abstract submission, Status Confirmation Letter by your Institute Director/Department Chair)

Recipients will be notified about their acceptance through e-mail by March 20, 2009

If your bursary application is accepted, continue at point 14

If your bursary application is rejected, and in case you are then unable to attend FEBS2009, you will obtain a full refund (bank transfer fees will be deducted) if you claim it at the FEBS Congress Secretariat

The strict deadline to claim a registration fee refund will be April 15, 2009

Refund claims have to be e-mailed to the Secretariat

If refund claims are verified, money will be transferred to your bank account

FEBS Bursary recipients will receive a fix sum of 600 Euro upon check-in at the FEBS 2009 congress venue (Prague Congress Centre) on July 4, 2009.
Eligibility, Conditions & Restrictions:
Student/postdoctoral researcher applicants must submit:

proof of abstract submission as a first author by providing the PRN (Participant Registration Number) obtained through the regular FEBS 2009 online registration

a letter or e-mail from the department chair/institute director confirming the status as student/postdoctoral researcher

a CV of maximal 2 pages

) after registration through the regular FEBS 2009 online system. Please use „FEBS 2009 Bursary Application“ in the subject heading. Fix sum of 600 Euro will be reimbursed to the FEBS Fellows in person upon check-in at the FEBS 2009 congress venue in Prague.
